In January 2017, Green Computer Systems (GCS) completed a critical infrastructure project for First National Bank in Heavener, Oklahoma. The bank needed a reliable, high-speed connection between their main branch and a remote location separated by a highway and a railroad track. Running direct fiber optic cable was proving to be both logistically difficult and prohibitively expensive.
The Challenge: Physical Barriers & High Costs
Connecting the two locations via traditional wired fiber would have required boring under a major highway and a railroad line. This approach came with significant regulatory hurdles, construction delays, and a massive price tag. The bank needed a solution that was faster to deploy and more cost-effective without sacrificing speed or reliability.
The Solution: P2P Long Range Air Fiber
GCS designed and installed a Point-to-Point (P2P) Long Range Air Fiber solution. By mounting high-performance wireless bridges on the rooftops of both buildings, we established a secure, gigabit-speed link over the air, completely bypassing the physical obstacles on the ground.
The Air Fiber unit installed on the main bank building.
Key benefits of this solution included:
- Rapid Deployment: The entire system was installed and operational in a fraction of the time it would have taken to lay physical fiber.
- Cost Savings: The project saved the bank approximately $1,500 per month in leased line costs compared to alternative carrier solutions.
- Reliability: Since its installation in Jan 2017, the system has experienced zero downtime, proving the robustness of modern wireless technology.
The Result: Over $162,000 in Savings
As of January 2026, this system has been in continuous service for nine years. The accumulated savings from avoiding monthly leased line fees now total over $162,000.

This project stands as a testament to GCS's ability to deliver innovative, high-ROI solutions for complex networking challenges. We don't just fix computers; we build the infrastructure that powers local business.
